Elena Riol Ramírez — portrait
Role

Research assistant at PsychometricLab (Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center — CIMCYC, Universidad de Granada).

Elena graduated in Psychology at the Universidad de Granada, where she also completed the Master's in Secondary, Vocational and Language Teacher Training, specialising in Educational Counselling. She is taking her first steps in research: during the master's she received a Collaboration Grant with the Department of Methodology of Behavioural Sciences and joined the PROC&CONS project at the intersection of psychometrics and psycholinguistics. Her first research article — emerging from this work — is currently in preparation. She has also served on the organising committee of several conferences and presented her own work at others.

Current work

Elena collaborates on PROC&CONS, focused on obtaining validity evidence within a mixed-methods approach. More specifically, she explores how eye movements and electrodermal activity can provide relevant information about response processes and the consequences of assessment.

Motivations and inspirations

Although her career is just beginning and her interests are still being narrowed, Elena is clear that she would like to dedicate herself to research full-time, particularly in the world of psychometrics. She is especially interested in participating in interdisciplinary projects, which she considers a source of enrichment for both science and practitioners. Throughout her career, she hopes to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge — and to the well-being of the population.
